NZed

Finally here in New Zealand. Well ok, I've been here a few days now, so maybe I should say, Finally here to update the Crikey.

Got here Tuesday morning, after leaving Sunday morning, so I have no idea what happened to monday. I did write an update Sunday afternoon in the LAX airport, but that's on another computer, so it hasn't been posted here. At some point it will be though, so I'm not going to go over all of that stuff again. Well it will be again when I actually post it. or something...riiight.

So lets see. Its thursday morning here now. So Wednesday night back in the states, which means I should say Happy Birthday to Sara! And good luck on your test.

I have spent a lot of my time here sleeping so far, in an attempt to avoid jet lag, which has been successful, yay! I met up with Greg on Tuesday, so I got to see where he has been living, which is a nice house out in the suburbs of Auckland. Even met a couple of his roommates last night, all nice people. Some of them kind of weird though.

Yesterday I set up my bank account, got a cell phone, and extended my stay inthe hostel until Saturday morning. WHich was pretty much all of the errands I had to get done before I leave Auckland on Saturday, so now I have two free days to explore. WHich means I'm going to keep this post short, so that I can actually get out there and do thigns.

But I just wanted to let people know everything is giong well. Also more tales to come later, though it could be a while, as after I leave Auckland it will be several days before I get to another computer with internet access I assume.

CHeers,
Chris

Still not in New Zealand yet

Just got done talking with some people in Tucson and felt the need to mention them here. So hello to Lyssa, Brittney, and Josh. Don't you feel special now that I've listed your names on the internet? Ya I didn't think so. Congratulations to Josh for becoming an Uncle again, its scares me a little bit to know that there are children out there that you will get the chance to corrupt.

Anyway, I wanted to complain a bit about the fact that I have to wake up around 3am on Sunday morning so that I can get to the Albany airport on time to leave by 6am. Which means I'll get to LAX around 11am, and then have 12 and a half hours to kill before my plane leaves LA for New Zealand at 11:30 in the PM. I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do in the airport for that long. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, to place things randomly in this post so as to make it as difficult to read as possible, while I was getting my Tucson update earlier this evening I found it really funny that its seems like some things never change. The fraternity is still crazy, but Josh seems to be doing a good job leading it back to prosperity. The football team still sucks, and there is still constant drama involving a lot of drinking and some silly girls. After a two hour update it feels like I've never left!

Hmmm, the Colts and Patriots played the first NFL game of the season tonight. It was great to see the Colts still can't beat the Pats. Stupid colts, but I still think this is the year we're going to win the superbowl. To bad I'll be in New Zealand where the only football that will be on will be rugby. Speaking of rugby, the best team in the world is the New Zealand All Blacks. I wanted to see one of their games, but just as I'll be getting to New Zealand they'll be leaving to play in tournaments in London and other parts of Europe. Just my luck. So it looks like it could be '05 before I get that experience.

I also packed up my backpack today. Its not a good thing if before I start the trip the backpack is already full is it? Basically at this point if I buy even a t shirt I won't have room for it in the bag. I'm thinking that means I may need to unpack a few things. Not that I know what those things would be, I only have 4 t shirts in there now as it is, at this rate i'm going to be wearing the same clothes in every picture that gets taken.

Ok that's it for now

Let's get it started in here

Just thought I would post something to see how this works. I was in Montreal today. Went up with the family as a last "family" thing to do before I leave for New Zealand. Spent the day in Old Montreal. Its pretty cool, very "european" cityish. Got caught in a rain storm towards the end of the evening, but it was fun. Well sorry this is so short, but I just wanted to see how this thing works. Obviously more posts will come when I actually get to New Zealand.
